I make anti-crisis art. David Hackett Fischer theorizes in The Great Wave that during good economic times, art is beautiful and idealized, but in bad times, it becomes ugly, sad and distorted. An analysis of art history in conjunction with his timeline of crises: 1300-1400, 1594-1660, 1789-1820, 1980-.. substantiates his theory. My art is a call to move forward. I enjoy painting people who are full of life and energy- the amped up ones. Their energy could be love, sexual attraction, laughter or an urge to win. Large scale 4'x8', 6'x6'
