THE LAST CRY How many cries need I count - before you hear my pain. To crack open this shroud - enveloping me, its threads - woven by war, famine, poverty How many cries have fallen - muffled by the good deeds of men, - hiding the hurts against women. How many cries have died - as my children died, one by one - as I will soon die. How many cries? - No more cries. I have none left to give. © Martin D. H. Bloom, May 2009
