Entry Description:

The aim of my figurative work is to encourage a moment of self reflection by the viewer with the space around them. By viewing the world from awkward angles and unaccustomed points of view, the way a camera looks at the world, I create frames and compositions that contain snapshot life, a fleeting moment that balances line, shapes and space in a pictorial space. The cut off edges, cropped figures and psychologically complex spaces have dramatic diagonals drawing the viewer into the picture and on to a narrative ambiguity of our alienation, dislocation and fragmentation in the contemporary world.
