Taina Galis, United Kingdom
Taina Galis is a cinematographer. She was born in Bucharest in 1976 but has lived most of her life in London. Taina studied cinematography at FAMU. Before that, she studied philosophy and politics at Oxford and LSE. Her sculpture, “Trinity cage” was exhibited in the National Gallery, London, “Back to the Future” exhibition, 1998. She has shot films in Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and India and was selected for the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2007. Taina has just finished shooting a documentary set in barbershops in the Balkans, and later in the year, will be shooting her first feature film, “Restaurante”, with the director Gabylu Lara in Mexico City.
