Entry Description:

"Being an animal lover as well as an artist, I flaunt the beauty of the skins by interpreting them on batik. I portray the animals, showing movements and focusing on their individual characteristics."

I would like to create awareness of the wildlife population facing a catastrophic decline, as there are fuelling demand of animal skins for fashion accessories and decors and dealers are profiteering from this illegal but highly lucratve trade. Batik is a good example of weareable art and I concentrate my unique batik creations on wildlife. I hope more people appreciate the beauty of animal skins, yet without the need for the killing of the animals, in the form of art.
